SPRING BREAK 2019: MEXICO

For spring break this year, we decided to go back to Mexico and bring our baby with us. This was Wally’s first international trip! He was sick with cold the whole week, and it was exhausting traveling/sightseeing with a baby, but we got to see some amazing things and overall enjoyed our time. We love Mexico!

The boat rides at Xochimilco was so much fun! We enjoyed seeing all the colorful boats, live music, fun souvenirs, and smell yummy food. We didn’t get to buy anything because we didn’t have any more cash with us.

Teotihuacan was incredible. The sheer size of it will blow your mind! It was such a hot day and we didn’t dare climb all the way up to the Sun Pyramid, but it was an unforgettable experience.

We got to visit the Frida Museum in Mexico City! It was a hot day and the line was crazy long (we waited almost THREE hours and nowhere to sit), so all I wanted to do once we got in was to sit in a shade. But I got to learn a lot about her life (I knew next to nothing about her).

Mexico City is so beautiful. There were interesting museums, crowded streets celebrating the Holy Week, lots of street vendors, great smells everywhere, and so much energy. We took many breaks because of the baby.

We can’t wait for our next trip to Mexico!

YEAR 2018

What a year!

We welcomed baby Wally to our family on May 1st and he's been a joy. Ethan is now in his third year at Washington-Lee High School and continues to love it. I’ve been working a lot less and instead focus on being a mom.

Here are some other highlights from 2018:

Ethan started working on an online program to get a degree in library sciences from The University of Alabama. So, we took a family road trip to Tuscaloosa for his orientation.

Baby and I traveled to Washington state with my mom & my sister. We had a great time visiting family and Wally did awesome on the plane rides.

For his 28th birthday, Ethan spent Spring Break in Bogotá, Colombia. More recently, he was able to go to Sololá, Guatemala with a medical team to help run local clinics.

We hope you had a wonderful 2018 and that 2019 is even better. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Davis family!
